MWE, Municipal Waste Europe
Municipal Waste Europe represents local waste management at European level. Its main priority is to preserve local autonomy in the organization of waste management. In 2010, VKU became a member of MWE in order to more effectively and efficiently promote the interests of the local waste sector.
From 2017 to 2021, Patrick Hasenkamp was president of Municipal Waste Europe. He still represents VKU on the MWE's Policy Committee. He is also CEO of Abfallwirtschaftsbetriebe Münster and vice president of VKU.
