CEDEC, the European Federation of Local Energy Companies
CEDEC represents more than 1,500 local energy enterprises at European Union level. The Brussels-based organization, founded in 1992, comprises members from Germany, France, Italy, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Bulgaria, Sweden, Switzerland and Norway. VKU is an active and decisive member of CEDEC. As CEDEC‘s members exclusively operate at local level, the association has a clear focus on the concerns of local energy suppliers. Due to this special role, CEDEC is represented in all relevant working groups (European Commission, Council of European Energy Regulators, Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators). In its annual report , CEDEC gives further insights into its activities. Since 2019, Dr Florian Bieberbach is the president of CEDEC. He is also CEO of Stadtwerke München GmbH in Munich and member of VKU‘s Energy Industry Committee.
